Trend language that leadership packs can reuse without spin
Concrete verbs and dated ranges keep trend notes usable in board materials without overstating certainty.
Vague trend language travels poorly. Phrases that imply inevitability invite challenge in the room. Prefer dated statements: “Week-4 retention in Thailand soft-launch cohorts rose between May and July after the checklist onboarding shipped.”
Separate observation from recommendation. The observation belongs in the trend section; the recommendation belongs in a short closing note labeled as judgment. Mixing the two makes every chart look like advocacy.
When evidence is thin — a new market with six weeks of data — say so. A clear confidence note protects the report’s credibility the next time the numbers firm up.
Keep a glossary of metric definitions attached to every pack. Leadership meetings move faster when “active user” and “paying user” are not renegotiated live.
